Electrical and Power Transmission
If you are passionate about electronics, want your education to include hands-on building, installing and repairing electronics, and are excited by the study of circuit diagrams or DC and AC motors, this is the program of study for you! Electrical and Power Transmission courses include math and science related to electronics, plus electrical wiring codes, blueprint reading, sketching and other subjects essential in the electronics industry.
Electricians typically do the following:
- Read blueprints or technical diagrams.
- Install and maintain wiring, control, and lighting systems.
- Inspect electrical components, such as transformers and circuit breakers.
- Identify electrical problems with a variety of testing devices
- The Electrical and Power Transmission program teaches students the technical knowledge and skills to build and repair all things electrical, from homes to commercial and industrial buildings.
